AWS Certification: Self-Investment
AWS Certification Process
I just signed up to go to AWS re:Invent (December 2-6 in Las Vegas).
After registration, I got an email from them offering 50% off any certification I sign up for. They mentioned that those who get certified will also receive special perks, like entry into the certification lounge and exclusive swag.
So, I decided to look into certifications, and it seems that for someone like me, who isn’t technical but wants to learn more about cloud stuff, the right certification is the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam.
I actually signed up for that one, and I’m taking it on October 25, which is just a couple of weeks away. It’s exciting because now I have a reason to study and learn. I think it’s great to invest in myself.
Here’s some info about this certification:
Entry-Level: It’s for beginners looking to learn AWS basics.
Covers Cloud Essentials: Focuses on AWS services, pricing, security, and cloud concepts.
Multiple-Choice Format: 65 questions, 90 minutes to complete.
No Experience Needed: You don’t need prior technical knowledge.
General AWS Overview: Gives a broad intro to AWS without going deep into details.
As a first step, I went to AWS Skill Builder and signed up for the free course, ‘AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials.’ So far, I’ve completed the first module, and it’s actually pretty interesting. I think this will be good for me to learn in general—there’s a lot of content, but I’m excited for this investment in knowledge.
